Acacius of Berea: Life, information and works -

Print PDF

Acacius of Berea was a fourth/fifth-century theologian and correspondent with St Basil the Great and St Epiphanius of Salamis, who earned fame for his works against the heresy of Apollinarianism. He was known for his holiness and integrity; yet his reputation later came into question for views that came close to those of Nestorius, as well as for his strong opposition to St John Chrysostom and involvement in the Meletian schism.
