I recently learned that someone may not be tonsured a monk if he is divorced. Is this true?

I know quite a few divorced persons who are now monastics. The restriction is that a man who has had more than one marriage (hence a divorced and remarried) man could not be ordained to the priesthood, but that has nothing really to do with monasticism. I also know a couple of monastic clergy who were married clergy and then the wife left (for whatever reason); after the divorce they chose to take monastic orders since they would not be permitted to remarry and remain a priest. So, yes, a divorced person (man or woman) can enter monastic life (assuming they want to and are suited for that life to begin with).
