Hello friends,

Is anyone aware of the practice of reading from the Gospel Book at the Great Compline services of the first week in Great Lent, after the Great Canon?  I found an Antiochian service text that specifies the following readings after the "slumber prayers":

Monday Evening: Luke 21.8-26
Tuesday Evening: Matthew 6.1-13

Wednesday Evening: Mark 11.22-26, Matthew 7.7-8
Thursday Evening: Matthew 7.7-11

I have never seen this before.  Is this a local practiced that has developed?  See the link to the text I found below.  Thanks!

Loucas, thank you.  This appears to be the standard Greek/Byzantine practice, then.
