A quick question requiring an urgent answer:

Is anybody able to supply tonight's readings at Vespers for St Catherine of Alexandria, if such are appointed? I do not have the menaion service, and my other sources only give and Apostle and Gospel reading for the Liturgy.

Thank you so much.

In Christ,
Michael

At least according to the Russian typikon there are no OT readings for the service of Gms Catherin & Merkury. This is because it is a 6 stichira rank service. Thus daily Vespers would be done on a weekday (ie no entrance, no readings).

But maybe the Greek typikon is different here.

Here we celebrated a night vigil and Liturgy for the martyrs, and it was done in this way (though modified to take account of its service as a vigil); namely, no vesperal readings (though an entrance for the vigil).

Isn't St. Catherine's Feast also celebrated by some Orthodox on the 24th of November? and by some one the 25 along with the Leavetaking of Presentation of Theotokos?  Wouldn't this affect its ranking?

In Christ,

Fr. Enoch
