Christ is Risen!
Can anyone recommend good resources for learning about the history and the structure of akathists, beyond the original Akathistos Hymn composed in the 6th century? I understand that many akathists were composed in imitation of the Akathistos Hymn but they do not seem the follow the exact structure of it. Are there any particular rules on the number and the order of stanzas, regarding the use of acroustics, limits of topics, re-use of phrases from other akathists etc.? Theses are the issues I am researching. I would appreciate any reputable sources.
