Why do we, as Christians, continue the tradition of not speaking the Name of God?
Do we [humans] even know it anymore?

The Name that God spoke to Moses. YHVH, with the vowels, do we know how to pronounce it? Why don't we speak it.

There was a recent thread that touched on this issue - The tetragrammaton: to pronounce or not to pronounce? Father Alvin (now Father Aidan) and Hieromonk Irenaeus had very good comments from contrasting points of view. There were some other threads also where this was discussed; you can try the forum search feature, or use this Google search.

Actually that question is answered in several threads in these fora. I suggest you familiarize yourself with the search feature, but to get you started may I suggest you start here: About YHWH
