I would like to recommend a change in how the Monachos software renders postings. Presently, all block quotations are automatically italicized.

This effectively nullifies italicized words within the quoted material.

Given that the block quotation already separates the quoted material from the rest of the post, it seems unnecessary to also italicize the quoted material.

I recommend that the automatic italicization for block quotations be turned off (if that is possible).

I would second that. Currently preserving the emphasis of italicized words in a block quotation requires manually adding bold or underlining; simply dropping the auto-italics would make more sense. Hopefully it's just a matter of updating one of the stylesheets.
