2 questions
[/HR] 1. can anyone point me to where the Fathers speak of Monarchy, and specifically of the Emperor as he who withholds the mystery of iniquity (from 2 Thess.)? I know that St. John Chrysostom teaches this, and I have found several later Russian Saints who teach it, but does anyone know of other, earlier Fathers?

2. is anyone familiar with a statement from St. Nikolai Velimirovich that he doesn't think (or isn't sure if ) Orthodoxy will take hold in America because Americans do not know how to suffer? If so, where is it from?

Judging by the persecutions and heresies which flourished under various monarchs, and the immense damage which even ostensibly Orthodox monarchs caused the Church, I would say that monarchy has no particular efficacy in resisting Antichrist.
