Dear Forum Members,
Glory be to Jesus Christ!

A point I heard about when Orthodox monks wear the monastic garb is that when a monk attends divine services outside of his respective monastery or skete, he does not wear the full habit, only a part. For example, a Russian monk would not wear mantia, or a schemamonk would not wear the schema if he found himself visiting another monastery or a parish and attended the services there. Is this true? What is the practice/custom of monks wearing their habits outside of their particular monastic home?

Thank you!
