Does anyone have favorit sites on line that have an abundance of Orthodox prayers for verious things. I've looked at a few but they seem to be copies of each other.
I'm looking in particular for blessing for work or business, blessings for Fathers, Mothers and childern.
Bishop Ware says that we have prayers for everything and so I'm looking.
Thanks for your help.

There is an excellent book of prayers Praying With the Orthodox = Tradition compiled by Stephano Parenti and with a forward by Bishop = Kallistos of Diokleia (Ware) published by the St. Vladimir's Seminary = Press 1996.
There is another outstandingly good book of prayers which I have used = since the 1940's - A Manual of Eastern Orthodox Prayers, compiled by the = late, saintly Father Nicholas Zernov (Bishop Kallistos' predecessor) in = 1945. It was published by the Fellowship of Saint Alban and Saint = Sergius through the SPCK in Great Britain. If you can find a copy of = this book you will have a rare find.

Try www.saintjonah.org/services/prayers.htm (http://www.saintjonah.org/services/prayers.htm) and trawl through the links, hopefully you'll find what you need. I have a huge series of prayers for every conceivable cause which I found online, only problem it's in Slavonic... Now if I could find the equivalent in English..

I agree entirely with Dr. Nasou's excellent recommendations, with one slight correction: Nicolas Zernov was indeed a man of luminous holiness, and he was indeed Bishop Kallistos's predecessor in the (currently vacant?) Spalding lectureship in Eastern Orthodox Studies at Oxford--but he was never ordained to the priesthood or any other holy order. Also, his wonderful little compilation of prayers has been reprinted in the U.S. by St. Vladimir's Seminary Press; I should think it fairly easily obtainable on both sides of the Atlantic.

Sorry I have gone a little crazy, collecting prayers is an interest of mine - so I'll be interested to hear of other English sites.
Hope something here is of interest.

If you're interested in the services of the hours (the "horologion"), Fr. John Whiteford has posted extensive resources at http://www.saintjonah.org/services/horologion.htm
Though it would be virtually impossible for someone who was not a monastic to pray all of these hours each day, praying some part of them is an excellent way to establish a framework for regular personal prayer and to pray with the mind of the Church.
