Dear Community Members,
I have undertaken to read Theogony by Hesiod and I am wondering if any of the Church Fathers have commentated on this poem. I am also wondering how to fit my understanding of this poem into my understanding of Creation from the perspective of the Church. It seems like a problem.

I was referred to this post by a biblical studies professor in a discussion on words and the translation of ideas in regards to the word love in the new testament. I am supposed to gain an understanding of Eros from Hesiod. I think I am gaining confusion!

Can anybody help clear up matters before me? Like how does the scriptural understanding of Eros draw on the work of Hesiod? I am trying to do my own work as a student, but I need some *help*.

Thanks
