I need to know what the exact meanning of this expression? are it mean for example the gnosticism or judism in this place to which this inspired part was written to?!

I would also be very interested in this, though I guess it requires quite a specialist knowledge to answer. The further question that then arises is, how far to the Fathers insist on the literal interpretation of this cosmology (or cosmologies)? Such questions are normally discussed more in connection with evolution, but arise in an interesting form here too.

In an Orthodox context that would mean the logoi by which God made the Cosmos, which are the same in OT and NT since they are archetypes of the eternal divine will(or glory), and providence.

Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made... (Rom.1:20)

In a secular context it probably means the theories about the external characteristics of the world, flat/round earth etc.

Of course I may be wrong... http://www.monachos.net/mb/clipart/happy.gif
