I'd like to open a thread practises christological faith of St.Paul the apostle , I believe his letters touch the reality of the oneness of the Christ . not only as a man , nor as god ... but as the Incarnated god . his eternity and his Almighty, his service on earth as the the great priest . I will begin with these simple words saying : -Christ is God-
Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen(rom 9:5)
Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ(titus 2:13)
modern students in the west who deny the deity of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ object on the apostolic interpretation and the christian recognize towards the previous verses ... their objects -briefly- are :
1) the one who is over all is the blessed (yhwh) .
2) the one "who is over all" is god and he must be blessed forever.
3) in (titus 2:13) : the appearing is of the great god , and then the appearing of the saviour . this means that there are two appearings.
well, I tried to search and I found simple answers; the first verse is clear , there is no separation between the sentences , and it is found obvious that the blesses and the last word (Amen) are on the christ. but the second verse has something important we should focus on. st.Paul and st.Peter used a certain technique in writing a verse refer to the deity of that human we saw -I mean the christ-that one who was between us and all of you -the jews- saw him and crucified him. Paul here talk to them about the saviour who saved them , he is God the almight, this verse in greek is written : tou megalou theo kai swtyros imwn ekhristou isou (excuse my weak greek reading) , it will be a fatal mistake to understand that the word "God" refers to the father since the word "saviour" did not follow a difinite article in greek ... same example is found in (2 peter 1:1) ... so , the correct english translation can be found in the Anglican Revised version as : our great God and Saviour instead of "the great god and our saviour"
many verses support Paul's confess on the deity of the Christ.
