Dear Community Members,

Today a conversation got me thinking how primitive marriage is marked by woman being the vessel for the man and I got to thinking how Mary was the vessel for the Holy Spirit. Now my favorite theologian is Paul Evodokimov and I have three of his books, The Sacrament of Love, Woman and the Salvation of the World, and Ages of the Spiritual Life. I have to dig around in them for this information as "vessel" is not in the index of the first two. Is anyone more familiar with his work than me? I am looking for some who can tell me where to find this information.

Also does any know of any other modern Orthodox theologians who write on Mary as vessel of the Holy Spirit?

I am also looking for modern Orthodox thought on woman as the vessel of the Holy Spirit as well.
