Dear Norman,
Have you tried looking up the book on Google? Also, AlltheWeb.com has access to 2 billion documents.

Norman,
You may want to contact the nuns of St. Paisius Monastery, Safford, AZ
stpaisius@eaznet.com
Maybe they can help with this book, or others on him if you are interested.

Thank you, everyone, for your leads concerning my search for a copy of the book, "Staretz Paisy Velichkovsky (1722-1794): doctrine of spiritual guidance". The publisher, in Rome, very kindly arranged to have a library copy reproduced, and sent me the facsimile.

Dear Norman,
Glad to hear it. I only realized that my memory had ill served me, that the book I had in mind was not Velichkovsky's byt Khrapovitsky's (Metropolitan ANTHONY), called Confession: A SEries of Lectures on teh Mystery of Repentance

Dear Richard,
Your confusion of Velichkovsky with Khrapovitsky was fortuitous. I was familiar neither with Khrapovitsky nor with his work. Confession and spiritual direction seem to intermingle at times, depending on the denomination. The only work I have read on confession was a Roman Catholic one, "A Confessor's Handbook" by Kurt Stasiuk (Paulist Press). Anyway, Khrapovitsky's work seems a worthy "read", so I'll buy the book or borrow it in Toronto.
Thanks for your reply.
Norm
