I am looking for the prayers (are they troparia or kontakia? I am such a pathetic loser I dont even know the difference), for Saint Isaac and some info on Saint Christine. I think she was a third century martyr, but I need an Orthodox source.

Thankyou, whoever reads this, hope you didnt waste your time. Also Merry Christmas everybody. For those on the old calender, I hope you get through the new style feasting okay. I have a very loving Family, they are really good about me pretending to be Christian. My Father always makes sure I have something fast-worthy to eat.

I miss Father Averky. He warned me of things and I brushed of his advice. But he was right.

Dear Daniel,

It is a very hard time of year for those of us whose families practice the new calendar Christmas while we are fasting until our own Nativity celebration. Here in Australia the isolation can be even more intense because there are as yet few of us who have converted to the old calendar Church.

Do not let yourself fall into despair - fight that. We who are Orthodox have a mission to convert ourselves to the true fullness of Christianity. Just because we are failing does not mean we are not Christians - you are not pretending to be Christian.

Pray for yourself to be strengthened at this time, if you are having thoughts of doubt pray to the Apostle Thomas, if your sorrow comes from the fact that you are sad your family haven't come to believe as you do then pray to Archangel Uriel and the Saints Cleopatra and Martyr Varus.

<font color="0000ff">&#34;Kontakion. A liturgical hymn that gives an abbreviated form of the meaning or history of the feast of a given day. The kontakion is sung after the sixth ode of the Canon in the liturgy and the Service of the Hours. St. Romanos the Melodist is considered to be the most important hymnographer of the Kontakion.&#34;

&#34;Troparion: A generic term to designate a stanza of religious poetry. We sing the troparion at the end of Vespers and in the Liturgy. The stanzas used in the canon at Matins are also called troparia.&#34;

For lives of saints and troparia and kontakia, look up the Lives of Saints section at www.oca.org (http://www.oca.org) which is pretty comprehensive. It also has a Search for a Saint feature if you&#39;re not sure of a saint&#39;s feast day. There are many other websites which also have this sort of information.
