Dear Friends,
I am an Orthodox living in Germany and find information about pilgrimages a bit hard to come by.
If anyone has information about pilgrimages planned for this year (or maybe even for next year) can you please post it here. I am especially interested in pilgrimages within Europe.
Thank you, Ifigenia

Dear Ifigenia,
Try writing for information to some of the priests and monks in the Russian French Diocese. I have seen pilgrimages organised by them in previous years.

Dear Ifigenia, here is an Orthodox pilgrimage for late August of this year.
If you are able to go a-pilgriming, it would be wonderful if you shared your experiences with us. Living as I do on the edge of the world my pilgrim days are over but the love of it has not died.

The 2006 pilgrimage to Durham and Lindisfarne will be led by Bishop Kallistos and organised by Ruth Nares from 26 August - 2 September 2006.
The first three days we will based at Saint Chad’s College which sits next to Durham Cathedral, where we will be able to pray at the tomb of Saint Cuthbert
We will also visit Escombe Church, one of the most complete Anglo-Saxon churches in England.
We will travel to Lindisfarne via Jarrow, where we will celebrate the Divine Liturgy in the 7th century chapel of Bede’s well-known monastery. We will then spend 4 days staying at Marygate House on Holy Island, from where a boat trip is planned to Cuthbert’s place of retreat on Inner Farne Island, and also a visit to Cuthbert’s cave on the mainland.
Further details including costs will appear here shortly but e-mail Ruth if you have any questions in the meantime.
