Dear Monachos members,
Please remember my priest, Fr. Philip, in your prayers. He is undergoing heart by-pass surgery on Monday. We are a small Byzantine Catholic parish and love our good priest. Thank you.

Dear Monachos Members,

I must confess I am a bit disappointed (saddened) that not one person posted a kind word for our dear priest. Maybe because we are Catholic. We love the Orthodox in our parish and always welcome them, and have even shared our small facilities with them when asked. We have shared with the Coptics and the Armenians.

We were amazed and happy to see our dear priest back today to say Ligurgy. His open-heart surgery was just 13 days ago! It was like having our Dad back with us, back to his family and home.

Dear Denise,

I've just returned from some time away, and found your note here. Please do not be disheartened that some words were not posted in response to your previous message. I have always found the members of this forum deeply supportive, caring and prayerful, and am sure that -- whether or not such comments were posted -- your priest was in many a person's prayers.

Dear Denise,
Forgive us!
You can be assured of our prayers at all times. Most members of monachos have non-Orthodox parents, family & friends whom they pray for. It is wonderful that your priest, Fr Philip is back so soon at your parish.
In Christ- Fr Raphael

Dear Denise,

I know for a fact that people note down the people's names to pray for and rarely write back with "we are praying for ...." If people wrote back all the time the lists of msgs would be very long.

My favourite absolute favourite non-family people of all time were my parents RC next door neigbhours and they were the sweetest kindest people I have ever known and are permanently in my prayers. The only Orthodox people that I am close to are my children and my Church group. I know a lot more non-Orthodox people than Orthodox. In fact I worked for St Vincent de Paul for 1 1/2 yrs and am still friends and still visit and still pray for my ex-colleagues.

It would be a very rare person who is Orthodox that wouldn't care about another person just because they weren't Orthodox, in fact in my personal opinion that person themselves would not be Orthodox or in fact Christian, because they would not be following the commandments of Christ.

Re Yr Msg: I received your first msg at the same time I received your second msg. On a Sunday we travel to Church (one hour travel time) spend time with people at Church, lunch, come home, relax a little then go small compline and an akathist or molieben service at 6.30pm so the last msgs I received b4 these ones were about 48 hours ago.

In fact some weekends are Saturday morn-Church, afternoons quickly get school uniforms washed and other chores, Saturday night Church. Sunday Morning Church, Sunday Night - Akathist at our mission.

And that is pretty common amongst the people I know.

Sorry that you were hurt by know replies to your msg but it is entirely possible that people still haven't received it due to commitments/.

With Love in Christ
Irene

Dear Monachos members,
Thank you to all who may have prayed for our priest. We are so thankful he is recovering so quickly. I was so in awe of him this morning.
He has been our priest for over 22 years, and our parish is like a small family. He was to have his surgery August 23, but due to pneumonia it had to be delayed a week. We are very blessed to have him back.
