Greetings to all! I have visited the Monachos web site and I was overcome by the beautiful icon of the last judgement. Can anyone help me with the following: Who is the writer of this icon? Where can I receive a copy of this icon? I thank you for your attention. yianno.

I realize this thread is 5 1/2 years old and John is no longer with us, but felt bad he got no responses. Is this potentially the icon he meant from the GOARCH site?

I have seen several variations of this. Some are more grusome than others. There is probably no way of tracing the original iconographer over the centuries.

There are some really amazing apocalyptic icons at the Holy Monastery of Dionysiou on Mount Athos.

The scenes are rather haunting.

All of the Holy monasteries had graphic scenes like this. I think it was Karakalou or possibly Iveron with very disturbing images for me in the narthex.
