Dear Monachos community,
For those interested there is now available a new working draft in English for the Presanctified Liturgy:http://www.saintjonah.org/services/presanctl_sluzhebnik.doc.
I also have further liturgical notes about the Presanctified (how to serve) from Fr Alexander Lebedev which were translated from the Russian Typikon; I could email these to whoever wished.

Dear Timothy,
With the feast!
I haven't heard of this translation of Fr Alexander Lebedev. Maybe Fr David Moser knows about this since he's also in the same diocese with Fr Alexander.
The best instructions I have seen so far on how to serve the Pre-sanctified can be found in the Russian Bogosluzhebniye Ukazaniya for the year 2006 on ps. 141- 147. If I recall correctly you speak some Russian- anyway a person only needs a minimal understanding of Russian to understand the Ukazaniya and it's well worth getting hold of a copy of this book when it comes out for every year.
In Christ- Fr Raphael
PS: Good to hear from you after all these years! Say hello to the faithful at St Herman's for me.
PPS: I don't know if there's any truth to the rumour that Edmontonites are planning on canonising Craig MacTavish

I haven't heard of anything quite like this, however, I do know that the Western American Diocese is in the midst of producing an instructional DVD on serving the presanctified liturgy based on the talk given by Archpriest Alexis Kotar at our last clergy conference (Fr Raphael, were you there? I don't recall). I anticipate that this DVD will be ready for distribution sometime in the fall of 2006 (all the video is shot, now we are in post production editing.)

Fr. Raphael,
Christ is Ascended!
Great to hear from you. I will pass on your greetings to people
at St. Herman of Alaska Orthodox Sobor.
Lol ! Craig McTavish may not warrant it, but some may consider
Ryan Smith. His popular name among Oilers fans is "Heart and Soul".
His leadership and dedication are readily recognized.
I will see who has copy of the Russian Sluzhebnik you describe.
Fr. Yuri Podtepa of the UOCC has Rubrics sources surpassing
most Orthodox Clergy in Edmonton. He also has a web site in
English and Ukrainian detailing rubrics in practical ways. Here it is:
http://www.albertacantors.ca/home.asp
This evening, June 4/06 the Western Diocese of the UOCC held
a Tribute/Farewell Banquet to honour Metropolitan JOHN. He will
move to the muddy waters of Winnipeg, MB in July 2006. The
tribute to His Beatitude bore bouyant, affirming, and loving content.
The 'love' was evident as the clergy and faithful shared their
common experience of His Beatitude JOHN's humble, self-sacrificing Shepherding over th last 22 years.
I would like to express my gratitude to you for sharing knowledge
and sources on the life of St. Arseny of Winnipeg. His vitae still
needs more work as I understand. The honouring of this Saint
of Canada [and the US] is bearing fruit in many little ways. Some
faithful experience his supportive and instructive presence on a
regular basis.
May the LORD build HIS kingdom with holy power in your midst!
With the Feast!

I was at the clergy conference when this was decided but I'm not aware of where things are at now. If the DVD is ready in the fall perhaps others could also take a look at it.

CHRIST IS ASCENDED!
Fr. Raphael,
It may be helpful to jog your memory by repeating this 2 year old posting.
Do you remember the translation you wrote about? Please send a copy
if you still have the content. What has once been translated, can now
be read in English! :-))
With the Feast of Ascension!

I have found a reference to these 'notes' in My Documents which is part of an interesting post about the end of Typika and transition to the Pre-sanctified. But apparently I either never saved the notes themselves, accidently deleted them or they are lurking some other place I can't remember.
If I come across something I'll try to post it here.

Fr. Raphael,
We Orthodox, in our Liturgical concern for detail must keep in mind
the fundamental principle of Christianity: Jesus saves. In another place
HE says: "Go and do likewise."

I am glad to announce that this DVD is now ready for distribution. Advance orders can be placed with the diocese of San Francisco and Western America (ROCOR). The cost is $25 for a single copy. There is a discount for bulk orders and parish bookstores.
