Christ is Risen!

Dear All,

I would greatly appreciate any advice I can get on this subject.

A fourteen year old girl who is confiding in my eldest daughter and baptised Orthodox lives with her RC mother and step-father. She has expressed a deep longing to go to confession and communion and we are going to try and help her with this. However, could anyone recommend any books that we could seek out /or information on the internet that we could give to her to read to help her understand the Orthodox faith that would be at the level of understanding of a child who has not really been to an Orthodox Church for years?

Thank you

I would recommend that you look at some of the articles on Bishop Alexander's website http://www.fatheralexander2.org/ His catechetical articles were written for adults who had little or no church education and who had no understanding of such things other than the mere action of going to Church and lighting a candle. Most of them should be easily at the level of a 14 year old young woman.
