I have a question about the changes in the Orthodox Church. Did the Holy Spirit cause the changes or did He supervise them? For example, did the Holy Spirit make the Church have her current form of government or did He allow the change and supervise it? Could priests be wearing three piece suits instead of the current vestments? I'm not suggesting any changes or anything, I'm just trying to understand.

"...it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us..." The Book of Acts testifies that the Apostles had the authority to make decisions for the good of the Church, such as whether or not non-Jewish converts had to be circumsized, and the establishment of the office of the deacons. The Truth does not change, but how to best express that Truth and preserve good order and discipline in the Church does change from time to time.
