Dear Discussion Community members,

We've recently added some new functionality to the Discussion Community forum, namely an image hosting service that allows members to upload images (photographs, icons, etc.) via their Discussion Community account, which can be viewed by other members, included in the body of posts, etc. This feature is now available to all registered users (if you've not yet registered for an account, you can do so here (http://www.monachos.net/forum/register.php?)).

To access the Image Hosting features, click the Image Hosting (http://www.monachos.net/forum/vbimghost.php) link from the blue toolbar at the top of most Discussion Community pages. From the drop-down menu you can select My images (http://www.monachos.net/forum/vbimghost.php?do=myimages) to view your uploaded/hosted images; Upload an Image (http://www.monachos.net/forum/vbimghost.php?do=upload) to upload one or more images to your account; or View all member images (http://www.monachos.net/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=11#vbimghost) to see a listing of all uploaded/hosted images that members have elected to make public (NB: messages can be uploaded 'privately', meaning they're not part of the public gallery, but you can insert them in your own posts - if you've uploaded images but they aren't appearing on the master listing at the view all (http://www.monachos.net/forum/vbimghost.php?do=userlist) page, you may need to go into your my images (http://www.monachos.net/forum/vbimghost.php?do=myimages) listing and click 'Set Public' for the images you wish to make public).

You'll also notice that links to member images now appear on individual posts: beneath the poster's name on an individual message, you'll see a tag reading Member images: (n), where n is the number of images that member has uploaded (click the number to see the images).

For any queries about how the system works, don't hesitate to ask in this thread.

When I try to do the second of these (upload an image), I get a denial of permission message. (And I am certainly logged in, because the message addresses me as "Anthony".) Is this a technical problem, or something I am doing wrong?

Dear Anthony,

This problem, which has been reported by you and others, I think is now resolved.

Hello Matthew,

I am trying to upload an image and have already had it down-sized by an online service. I do not know how to make it smaller to be accepted by the service. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Paul

Dear Paul,

Here (http://www.monachos.net/forum/vbimghost.php?do=upload) you may view the rules for uploading images.
Also in the options area of the resizing online service you use, you may be able to choose for the image a maximum size of 1024 KB. The image can have a maximum of dimensions 700 * 768

Thanks Nina,

I found a better image resizer site (http://www.shrinkpictures.com/) if anyone wants to use it.

Please take a look at my new image on my profile.

This image is a natural knotting in the wood of our entertainment center. It is a daily reminder to "Keep my mind in Hell and despair not". How to do that is another question as I know I am THE worst of sinners. Hope is a wonderful gift of God.

Please pray for me.

Paul
