Hello,

I am a historian of the Islamic Middle East, currently working on patterns of repentance in Late Antiquity and Early Islam. I have been searching for compelling stories of repentance and conversion from this time period in the Orthodox Christian tradition.Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.

With best regards,

Hi Maurice,

What an interesting project. St Mary of Egypt (http://www.monachos.net/monasticism/mary_of_egypt/life.shtml) and Saint Moses the Ethiopian aka "the black" (http://home.iprimus.com.au/xenos/mosesblack.html) and St Cyprian (http://www.orthodoxinfo.com/death/cyprian_justina.aspx) are the first repentant Saints that come to mind for me and they are all well known and had very interesting lives.

I'm sure you'll find lots of interesting information.

Thank you both for your kind responses,
Could you provide more bibliographical information for some of the less popular figures mentioned?

With best regards,
Maurice
