With great joy, I "came home" to the Orthodox Church yesterday. In one of our talks, Father said I was coming home to the Orthodox Church (from the Roman Catholic Church). Please pray for me as I begin my new life.

Not your 'new life', but TRUE LIFE! God bless you!

Dear Laura,

You are already blessed, and I shall certainly pray that your blessings will be multiplied, as I am sure they will be.:)

Would you be happy to share with us a little of your journey, and what it was that brought you 'home'?

In Christ,

John

Dear Laura, What a lovely way to say it "coming home". I know a lady who refuses to call herself a convert she calls herself a prodigal because she found her way back to where she feels at home.

Thank you all for your kind messages. This is a brief version of how I found my way home.

I have lived in a predominately Orthodox country for eleven years and have always had an interest in the Church, attending all the life events of family and friends. It was when the Patriarch was in Florida in January for the service of the Baptism of Jesus which was broadcast locally. There were two "commentators" explaining the Liturgy and Orthodox beliefs, in English. Everything came together for me.

I read a couple of books and started talking to our local priest who spent so much time patiently answering all my questions, in English because my Greek is not very good. I carried on going to the local Catholic Church for a while. Father then suggested that I should start attending the Divine Liturgy. I knew imediately that this is where I belong.

Many thanks to Father, my nona and friends who have supported me. My dearest husband tried so hard not to influence me because he wanted this to be totally my own decision. His face said it all the other night.

But most of all praise and thanksgiving to the Holy Trinity for helping me find my way.
