View Full Version : Remember in your prayers

I wonder whether you would be kind enough to remember my youngest son, Christian (Kit) Charmley in your prayers. He is passing through a dark valley at the moment, and in those times and places where it is darkest, he needs the Light of the World - and the comfort of the Mother of God. He is a courageous young man, but I am sure that he would be strengthened in his struggle by the power of prayers.

Thank you.

In Christ,

John

Dear John, It is really difficult when our children suffer and we'd probably be happier if the burden was all on our own shoulders.

I have typed out my absolute favourite prayer that I say for my children, when I am particularly worried I say it three times with other favourite prayers. I don't know if you'll like it but if there is something that doesn't quite fit with your situation perhaps you could change a word or two.

A prayer of parents for their children. (http://au.blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-qCKGHQ8.abLh9X8bK1YztIMeHw67FO8-?cq=1&p=96)

Dear Irene,

As a mother, you instinctively understand; yes, it would be easier in many ways if the burden that has fallen upon Kit had fallen upon me; but it has not, and I must support him, and learn what lessons this has for us all. Suffering has a purpose, and I must pray for the wisdom to discern it, and not let anxiety consume that insight. We are all in the hands of the Lord, and there is no better place to be. His will, not mine, be done.

The site, and the prayers, are much appreciated - and, like the knowledge of your prayers, a comfort.

The illness is a rare sight disorder that produces hallucinations, which would be disturbing for anyone, let alone a 17 year old boy.

Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated.

My heartfelt thanks.:)
