I would like to ask your prayers once again for my friend Anna, in Russia. A year ago she was involved in a bad road accident, which left her in a coma for six weeks and with severe injuries. Tomorrow morning (probably today by the time most people read this, but I have only just found out for certain myself), she is due to have a (hopefully) final operation to remove all the metal from her body. There is some danger that she might lose the use of her right arm.

I will be very grateful.

May the Lord have mercy upon her, Anthony.

I will certainly add her to my unworthy prayers this evening.

Dear Anthony,

My wife is going to the Holy Trinity St Sergius Lavra tomorrow for a few days - I will ask her to have prayers said for Anna at the relics of St Sergius.

In Christ,

Andreas.

My heartfelt thanks to everybody. It will be several days before I hear news, but I will come back when I can.

I have just heard that Anna was judged too weak for the operation, so it has been postponed to early December.

I have just heard that Anya's operation will now be on Tuesday morning. Although the operation itself is not normally complicated, because of her general state of health it could become so.

She is very touched and grateful to know that she is being prayed for by people who have never met her, and particularly before the relics of St Sergius. May the martyrs of Ekaterinburg also look after her in their own city.

I'm sorry for not getting back earlier to those who have been kind enough to pray, but things were, as predicted, a bit complicated. Nonetheless I think I can now say that the operation and subsequent treatment have been successful. Thank you again!

Unfortunately Anna needs another operation, which will probably take place this week (communication is a bit difficult at the moment, so I'm not sure exactly). This is to correct surgical mistakes in an earlier operation. I would like to ask once again for your prayers.

Yes, Anthony I will pray for her tonight and for my sister's husband who is going into hospital on Wednesday for some exploratory surgery. The doctors told him it was definitely nothing serious but they needed to do it just to be on the safe side. He's 45 years of age.

Unfortunately, my brother-in-law has to have a second operation soon.

I'm worried but my sister told me it wasn't serious. Thanks again Adrian.

Prayer is a powerful tool.

I would like to let you know that Anna is out of hospital and all appears to be well, though it will be some time before everything is clear. I am very grateful to those who have supported her in prayer during what has been a horrible time for her, though she has faced it all with great courage.

I hope that you too, Effie, will have good news from Australia.

Unfortunately I also heard the other day that my sister (Caroline) has cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy. Please remember her too.

Anthony, I'm so sorry about your sister. God is great and he is a loving God.

A wonderful neighbour of mine has had cancer three times over the last 35 years and she is one of the most active people I know. The last time was 6 years ago and she was terribly depressed but she got through it OK and is now totally well (again).

When I think of courage I think of this lady. Her name is Panorea which means "everything beautiful" and she is...... beautiful in appearance and beautiful in spirit and character.

I shall include your sister and you in my prayers tonight.

Dear Anthony,
Such good news about Anna; thank you for letting us know how she is- and do update us when she gets the all-clear.

I shall remember your sister Caroline in my prayers; May He sustain and succour her - and those who know and love Her.

Please remember also newly departed Maria (Anna's grandmother), who passed away over the weekend and whose funeral is tomorrow. She had been an invalid and confined to bed for (I think) nine years.

Thank you all for your prayers.

I am happy to say that Anya was given the all-clear yesterday. We are both grateful for all your prayers. Hopefully with God's help she will now be able to lead a normal life.

With my sister the news is not so good - she has to have a serious operation for cancer. She will go into hospital on 25th Sept.

Pray to God, Panagia, to the Saint of the day (Saint Euphrosyne) and to the Saint of the day after (Saint John the Theologian). May God's will be done!
