I just heard the most beautiful words ever. I think it was St. Ephraim the Syrian's 55th psalm in his spiritual psalter. He was describing how sinful he was, and focusing on the irony of his own condition compared to how he treated others. Does anyone have the text of this? Please, if you do, I would like to have it, it is the most beautiful prayer I've heard.

Dear Geoffrey,
I'm sure I have this book - I'll try and find it and then reply again. I remember it is compiled by St Theophan the Recluse.
In Christ,
Andreas.

Dear Geoffrey,
I've found the book - 'A Spiritual Psalter' by St Theophan the Recluse, based on writings of St Ephraim the Syrian. It is No 55 you refer to. It's rather long but I'll write it out when I can. The book is published by the St John of Kronstadt Press.
In Christ,
Andreas.
