I am trying to tackle this issue from a different angle now. I am wondering why the Eastern Orthodox church does not allow priests to be crowned after ordination. Anyone know? Does anyone know when this rule was created and by whom and if it would ever be possible to change it? Any information is welcome. Thanks.

This is a very ancient custom. Hippolytus in 220 a.d. criticised Calistos bishop of Rome for allowing those in holy orders to become married.
The Apostolic Constitutions compiled in 390 a.d.( these are compilations of things the Church already practised from time immemorable not new canons) says:
"Of those who come into the clergy unmarried, we permit only the readers and singers to marry afterwards, if they so desire".
The Church has ALWAYS recognized the verses in 1 Tim 3.2, 12, 5.9, which speak of once married for clergy, as just that. They cannot re-marry for any reason.
I guess exceptions can be made, Antioch in America allowed one of their widowed priests to remarry, but it probably wasnt a good idea. A controversial patriarch earlier this century attempted to introduce re-marriage for priests, but it never came about. In fact we can in view of the Apostolic Tradition safely say re-marriages of clergy is an innovation. Its one thing to allow clergy never married to marry once, another thing to allow them re-marriage while ordained.
For me allowing ordained clergy to marry is dangerous, lets face it, they would date their own parishioners and we know the kind of drama that can unfold in such situations.

:) Ewww Just to imagine it is so unpleasant. Thank you for putting it this way and also for the knowledge you shared!
