Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

Christ is Risen!

This morning when I tried to log on I was asked to change my password, as according to the system, it had expired after 365 days. Actually though I have been at Monachos now for a few years without ever having had to change my password. I did finally end up having to change my password after several failed attempts at getting onto the system.

Is this a bone fide message of the system or a glitch? Has anyone else been asked by the system to change their password?

Probably Matthew would know what is going on.

In Christ- Fr Raphael

I'm not sure what the cause of the message for a new password was. It did specifically mention how my password had 'expired after 365 days'. I'm guessing then that the problem would only show up for those who have been at Monachos for more than a year and with the same password.

Anyway, I just changed my password back to my old one by using the Control Panel so I'm back to my old identity again. :)

Dear all,

Depending on the type of one account has with the forum, the system may prompt you to re-set your password after a given period. This is authentic, so long as it's asking properly on the site.

I just never log off. I hope this is not messing up any counting system you have set up Matthew.

It sounded Fr. Raphael like you were being targeted by a 419 algerian scammer. I wonder what would happen if they broke into the secret vaults of the treasurery of Monachos? Do you think they would find salvation and get real jobs?

PC
(I am using PC since we now have 2 Pauls posting. I thought it might help keep us differnetiated) Not that anyone particularily cares how I sign my name.

This crossed my mind also (not too sure though what a 419 Algerian Scammer is)
but then like yourself thought it would do no harm regardless.

I think we're going to have to write a book called 'a site called Monachos.' Each of us relates to it in such different ways.

419

SECTION OF NIGERIAN LAW WHICH COVERS FRAUD. OFTEN CALLED A NIGERIAN 419 SCAM BECAUSE THE EMAIL SCAM PROMISING A PERCENTAGE OF THE CASH IF YOU HELP MOVE MONEY OUTTA THE COUNTRY ORIGINATED IN NIGERIA. MANY SCAMMERS ARE POOR AND SO MUST USE KEYBOARDS WITH THE CAPS LOCK KEY PERMANENTLY JAMMED DOWN.

I am sure you have gotten one or one hundred of these telling you you won millions from a lottery in UK you never entered. They then tell you in order to transfer the funds to your private bank account, you only have to send them the bank draft and attorney fees. (FIRST).

Oh now I understand.

Yes at one time I was receiving so many emails from Nigeria promising me unclaimed millions that I would have caused their whole bank system to collapse if I ever could have had access to it.
