I am working with a particular book in the "Heart of Salvation" thread, and it just occurred to me that I am not sure about possible infringements, as it relates to doing too much quoting. In the past, for some projects, I have contacted publishers for permission to use large portions or outright copies of certain forms. And, possibly, this is the safe answer ultimately. But, I am wondering if anyone can give me some idea of what is acceptable in this type of environment. I have only quoted five short paragraphs so far, so I think I am okay up to this point. And, come to think of it I have seen some rather extensive quoting of books here . . . but, thanks for any help in advance.

In Christ,
Rick

Dear Rick,

The specific rules would depend on the type of work being produced - and please do feel free to Private Message me if you've specific questions.

The normal practice is that academic 'fair use' quotation guidelines apply for web materials, in terms of quoting the odd paragraph or passage in an article, etc.
