Many years.

Some 15 years ago, when - as a Seventh Day Adventist I used to go and argue with the Orthodox in Serbia - one of the people whom I loved and wanted to bring into "the truth" (and whose humility and knowledge ultimately brought me into the truth) – a then student of Belgrade Orthodox Theology spoke of the Pre-eternal Counsel Of The Holy Three as being an event that took place before there was before or after or any other such a term relating to time, thus as an event before time.

Since those days I never heard the term again - mainly because work took me to places where there was no Orthodox Church – anyway, reading a post that Fr. Vereshack wrote on 28NOV06 in the thread on Pre-existence of souls http://www.monachos.net/forum/showthread.php?t=3182) he spoke of this counsel and it sparked in me a wish to know more about this event.

So, without being rude, I wish to ask if anyone can – knowing about these things – say a word or two?

Thank you very much.

Pre eternal counsel would mean that every person in the Holy Trinity will come to the same conclusion before taking an action. And time is what we understand it as, which God is outside of as He created it. Imagine that God has everything in His hand and thus being outside of time. Read Fr Dumitru Stanilaoae's book on this.
