I think on suffering and why.
I see in my own life I have suffered, and see the casue because of my spiritual poverty, because of my sinfulness, my turning from God.
I've attempted sucide on a few occassions that's the suffering I've expereince of which I look can be no blame but mine, sure it would have helped if there were loving spiritual people to help me.
But I cried out to God in one of my suicidal states, and I think my Grandmother also use to pray for me.
But in my prayer maybe I submitted to God in some way to start a journey.
But now I see much suffering in the world, in physical states, there are children hungry, with aids, having limbs chopped off, living in poverty and fear, being massacred.
Women raped, children abused, people suffering bullying, and cruel things occur to people.
We can see in Christ He suffered maybe bullying, He was spat on and mocked, and crucified, and prepared to do this.
Most being bullied can't cope with it, can even be led to suicide.
Jesus was undoubtedly stronger than us.
I can see in suffering, there is the need for us to love one another.
For it is usually man that inflicts suffering on another, or even lack of love and compassion.
We can reach out to one another.
But even in that I think, we can be given food and shelter and all we physicallly need and not work for it.
We could be idle and lazy, and I think even in this though we need help, but should we have to suffer a little if we're not prepared to work?
I find I suffer when I fail somewhat in God's love.
And when I examine myself I find myself empty, and only God can fill me, I find I'm usually drifting from His purpose that is the cause of my spiritual suffering.
But I do find I have fear, I am very weak, and I pray to God to have mercy, to have patience and lead me, and I know in this I also have to be the same to others.
I think even the lazy need motivation, need love to live by.
It feels good to work, to make your contribution, to be part of something and building or contributing in something.
And I think all this has to be done in love and for it's purpose.
Even without work can come depression, worthlessness, people may be idle and but they won't be spiritually happy.
And in many idle cases they are drug addicts and drunks, who also need help, and in what but love.
I think it's what we all need to be led in.
We look on the poor, and feel sorry for them, which I beleive is right, for I think why do they suffer this and I not, they haven't done any worse than me, I'm probably worse than them and surely the children are more innocent.
But I think there is much in this, that maybe I still haven't considered and am ignorant of.
I think others suffering can sometimes bring out compassion in us, and there is the need for it.
As I've talked of maybe the cause can sometimes be the lack of it, as man cause anothers suffering.
But maybe in ones own suffering, there can be a growth of what's important in life, which I have heard of such testimonies and spiritual growth.
And even in this there is a duty for others to love them, comfort, and even guide if possible.
For I think it's not just physical food, and shelter, and medicine that even the poor need, they also need something more as do we all.
If our hospitals are just about food, shelter, and even medicine and cures, and we even demand such, our lives will still be spiriutally empty.
I think We still need to grow in love, sure we need to have compassion on people in their physical needs, but moreso I think the spiritual love has to accompany it.
As in hospitals, we don't just need beds, and to be treated physically, but as some hospices have learnt, and Mother Teresa knew, we need to be loved and comforted.
And this is a benefit and a love shared in both, the comforter and the comforted.
As Mother Teresa said, we need to be loved and to love.
As Jesus said, all as much as you would desire mankind to do unto you, do unto them, for is the Law and the Prophets.
I beleive many misquote this, as not to do unto others as we wouldn't want done unto us, but this is not what He said.
Or even worse is sometimes said, do unto others as they do unto you, which is an eye for an eye, and as Gandhi said would make the whole world blind.
I know we all deserve what we do unto others, and shouldn't do no evil.
But if we all punished others for the wrong done to us, and others also, we'd everyone of us be at war with everyone, for we all sin, we all make mistakes.
Maybe some have reached heights of being saintly, but most of us have not, and at least at some stage even saints have to grow and was once sinners.
Maybe our sin is always punished, and not for that God desires to just punish us.
But that maybe it can lead us in love.
For if we are evil, and would be spiritually full of love, that can not be right.
If we are evil, we are spiritually deprived.
Maybe sometimes in life we even come to a situation and feel what we have done to others.
And maybe that can lead us to reptentence, but it maybe different for different people, and only God knows how to lead us.
Maybe some are purely evil, but I am not fit to make that judgement, God will make the final judgement and is the only one capable, sure we need laws on earth.
And even in having just laws, I beleive is loving.
I beleive our purpose is love, God's love within us.
I think suffering only has a purpose to love.
And there are even martyrs, and Christ Himself.
And they suffered willingly out of love and courage.
They were prepared to for us, to lead us in love, out of love.
Maybe it even takes us to sometimes suffer with others, or make sacrfices, or at least give thought for others feelings, and least be compassionate and thoughtful.
I don't know it's a hard subject for me, I think I've learnt a little, but am sure I have much more to learn, maybe even make some errors.
These are just my thoughts, just hoping you can shed some more light on the subject here.
Thanks.
In love.
