Howdy!

This is my absolute first inquiry into a life of monasticism.

At this point my primary concern is that, due to health I need to obtain prescription drugs from a pharmacy.

How does this effect the possible choices when investigating possible locations?

Is a monastary out in the remotes somewhere out of the question?
Would a person with multiple medical issues be well advised to only seek a monastary in a city? These two questions probably indicate that a drastic change in mindset is necessary but hey... I'm very new at this.

You would first need to visit a monastery and then speak with the abbot about such things.

Off hand though many of the monasteries I have visited have monastics with chronic conditions who are on medication.

But again you'd have to check this out with the actual monastery you are inquiring about.
