What is virginity of soul and how does one obtain it even if one is no longer a virgin?

What is virginity of soul and how does one obtain it even if one is no longer a virgin?

I had always understood this to mean the purity of one who had conquered the passions. As for how one aquires this state of dispassion, I assume it is the same as everything else: tears of repentance.

St. Mary of Egypt or St. Moses of Ethiopia seem good examples of this noetic form of virginity.

I think there is a saying that "tears of repentance can (even) restore lost virginity", but I can't remember which Father it comes from.
