Dear All,
In the past while a number of posts have appeared on the Forum or in the Moderator's queue that are formatted to the extent that they are very difficult or not possible to read.
When this occurs the moderators often need to redo the whole post removing the formatting and then leaving the original message. The risk is that some part of the post that is part of the message gets accidentally altered or deleted.
Since in most cases posts read much better in plain style with minimal formatting could I ask that posts be formatted only to the extent this is needed to convey the message of the post?
Thanks.

I have noticed the problem of formatting marks appearing in posts occurs when I have composed a post using Word, then pasted it into the reply box, rather than keying it directly into the box. Even when then selecting the "No Formatting" option, the formatting marks remain, and I then have to manually correct them as an edit after the post is sent. Is there a way around this?

Hmm Have you tried to highlight the text after you paste it and then select "Remove Text Formating" ? I do this for saints' lives from my email and it always works. The only problem is if there is color text involved. But maybe you have the same problem. I do not know.
Yes, I have, but it doesn't always work for some reason.

Offhand I'd suggest using the Reply to Thread reply box.
But then I went and did a test pasting into the reply box part of a document I'd already prepared in Word. At least in the Preview Post it looked alright.
I don't know enough about the technical side of this to make any other suggestions. But if you haven't seen any great problems with your posts so far don't worry.
