I'm compiling some new settings as we move into our new Church and looking specifically for any publications in this style.
Any recommendations?
I already have the one arranged by the late David Melling.
Many thanks!

I know you asked for English, but St. Anthony's Monastery has a Divine Music Project that has byzantine music in western notation and byzantine notation. This may be a start, but you could contact the monastery because they may have things in English as well. Here is the link:

Hope this helps..i know its not exactly what you want, but it might be a start.

I also realise I have a photocopy of a Great Doxology setting from a book published in 1982 by Holy Transfiguration Monastery. Does anyone know what the title of the publication might be? Or do they have any newer publications? I've had a look on their site - might it be 'Selected Byzantine Hymns', or some other title?
Many thanks!

Ephrem,
The St. Anthony's website is the most comprehensive one that I know of in English, and the monk's name that does it happens to be Fr. Ephraim (not the Elder).
The GOA bookstore has some of Fr. Seraphim Dedes' music available.
Holy Transfiguration has one book of music published, title Selected Byzantine Hymns. I just got it myself. Here is a link to purchase it-http://www.thehtm.org/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=75_105&products_id=578&osCsid=cfdb60cbdf770b4a596d13c7bae91547
They have an internet book of prosomia as well (special melodies). You can the link on the same page.
There is also www.newbyz.org by Nancy and Stan Takis. They put up Western notation in English and Greek.
Good luck,
Subdeacon Anthony
Many thanks!

This is an excellent site Subdeacon Anthony! I'm relearning Byzantine chant and I'm always looking for western notation so I can play it on the piano before I try the actual Byzantine script version.

If you like to have both notations, then St. Anthony's website is definitely the place to go, because they post all hymns in both Westeran and Byzantine notation, and they are starting to record actual chant versions of the hymns, instead of just midi files.

The Antiochian Archdiocese has been involved in a major project in this regard. They have a lot of stuff that's very good that a "westerner" like me, but especially a trained choir and music director, can pick up and use.

Here's an example:

It's all downloadable.
