I was wondering if anyone here has visited, or has any information about The Convent of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary in Wayne, WV ?
I'm interested in visiting a convent that is more traditionally Russian then most American convents. And I'm assuming that this one would be since it is under the Rocor.
Anyway, if anyone can help me with any info I'd be very grateful.

This is a very small establishment, currently, as I understand, with only one nun in residence - Mat Theodora. She supports herself by making hand dipped candles for Church use. Someone on this list I believe had visited there recently

Is this convent new? I don't remember seeing it listed on the Rocor website before.

No it is not new - it has been in existence since the early 80's. It has always, however, been very small one or two women and it has always been connected to Holy Cross Skete (the convent's original spiritual father was Hieromonk Kallistos, the founder of Holy Cross). It has always been in the directory but it has never been "advertised" much.

Has anyone visited here? If so, can you tell me anything about it?
