New post indicator

Dear Father Matthew,

All of a sudden today the little button off to the side of the page that says "You have X new posts" is gone. It doesn't show up on any of the pages where it was before. I can still hit the "New Posts" button at the top of the page and get the search results, but the usual alert is gone. Is this permanent(please say no), or temporary, or maybe it's a "bug" (what programmers refer to as a "feature").

This feature has 'moved': it's now found in the upper right-hand corner, in the same block as other notification data (i.e. just below your username, in the same place where notice of new PMs, picture comments, etc. are found). Unread posts are linked, and new Feedback comments will appear in the drop-down notifications area when left.

OK I found it - that's great. Now is there any way that it can be placed back on the "Word from the Holy Fathers" page that I use for my homepage?

Dear Father, yes: we will get it back there just as soon as we can figure out how. :) The new system (which works much better than the old) codes a little differently.
