Does anybody know more about the 12-volume Navarre Bible? I read that it is the best Catholic version of the Bible, since it includes an impressive range of commentaries.
Peace,
Julian

Initiated by St. Josemaria Escriva (founder of the Opus Dei prelature of the Catholic Church) and compiled by the faculty of the Pontifical University of Navarre in Spain, the English Navarre Bible Series (7vols. Old Testament, 12vols. New Testament, 1vol. Compact New Testament 756pgs, and the 1vol. Navarre Bible New Testament Study Edition Latin/English 1200pgs. – to be released Aug. 08 – I hope to acquire this) uses the Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition of the Bible and includes extensive commentary from the Fathers and Doctors of the Church East and West.
It is one of the best study series of its kind.
Highly recommended.
See here: http://www.catholiccompany.com/catholic-catalog/466/Navarre-Bible/
Also see Eerdmans’ new similar series, The Church’s Bible (only 3 vols. so far).
Hope this helps.
In Christ,

Own and love the entire set. It takes up an entire shelf and is a little pricey but is well worth the investment. If you can afford it, I recommend buying it. If you can't afford it I recommend checking your local library.
