I am looking for a particular English translation set to the traditional chanted music for the canon of the Friday night Lenten Akathist to the Theotokos (Greek Orthodox). I have found many instances in English, but not the one I remember as we sang it as children in the 70's and it fit the music perfectly.
The 1st Ode (Anixo to stoma mou) went something like this:
I shall open my mouth to sing and with the spirit shall I be filled. And torrents of speech shall flow to praise the Mother and Queen. And with rich display shall I be seen rejoicing, and proudly my song shall rise, telling Her wondrous deeds.
Has anyone come across this translation? It is at least 35 years old! Any help would be appreciated!
