I am wondering whether Orthodox who become monastics can continue to correspond with their friends and family by letter.

I am wondering whether Orthodox who become monastics can continue to correspond with their friends and family by letter.

This depends on the monastery and the spiritual father. Some monasteries and spritual fathers follow this rule while others do not.
