I am aware of other threads, but I would like THIS thread to move from thoery to practice. Let's look at the Christological hot terms:
Ousia
Hyparxis
Prosopon
Physis
Hypostasis.
According to Severus of Antioch and a few others, this is what I have come up with:
Ousia- Being, that which multiple subjects have in common, OR specific to an individual Nature. "God is one being that is three independently existent subsistences." ANd Yet "I am a single being (Individual). Judie is a Human Being (General, Common).
Hyparxis- Existence, Either General or Individual. "I am a single Existence." "God the Trinity Exists as one, not three existences."
Prosopon- From what I can TELL, Prosopon is "Person." Either the individual Conscious Ego, OR The totality of the being, a Whole Person to include Nature, making it synonymos with Hypostasis: "I am one person composed of body and soul." (Generally synonymos with hypostasis) "I am one Person with a single personality, not multiple." (Individuated as to the ego, or conscious principle and not necessarily the "Entire" being.)
Physis- According to Severus of Antioch, it is at times synonymous with Ousia, Being, and at others with Hypostasis, Subsistent individual being. Let's Just say Nature but qualify it as individual or common
Hypostasis- SUbsistent Being. THat which exists in itself. Any independent object, not just rational beings. Individual is a close approximation, Being is a Close approximation, and Prosopon can be similar...so what to do? :) We'll use Subsistence.
Now, let's interpret our CHristological formulas. lol. All in favor?
