I am curious about Saint Mary of Egypt Orthodox Monastery in Cleveland (http://www.saintmaryofegypt.org/).

Has anyone been there?
How many monastics live there?
What kind of work do they do?

Hi Mary -

There is only one nun currently residing in the St. Mary of Egypt Monastery. She does spend a lot of time aiding those in need of food, as the monastery is located in an area of Cleveland that has people in poverty. I have not been there, but have heard Mother Theonymphie speak at a Lenten retreat. Hope this helps.

I have as well, heard Mother Theonymphie speak at a Philoptochos retreat and yes she is the only monastic.

she gets a lot of volunteers from her area to come and help her everyday to distribute food and clothing
to homeless, poor, sick, etc. What a wonderful mission she has!
