Prayers for a reader or acolyte?

I was wondering if anyone knows of specific prayers or an order of prayers that a Reader is supposed to say pre-service, be it Liturgy, Orthros, Hours etc? Likewise, for the young acolytes, is there a prayer or series of prayers that they can say before they put their robes on? One other counter-part question; are their prayers that should be said after the acolytes take their robes off, and are their any prayers for a Reader after the service?

    Thank you, God bless.

I seem to have deleted it from my computer, but with the help of another online source, I wrote a prayer for Alcolytes before putting on their robes. The boys are in such a hurry to take them off and get to coffee hour, it is pointless for me to try to get them to say a closing prayer. I will get this from church after nativity and post it here.

For older alcolytes and I suppose readers also (Rdr. Michael?) Psalm 50/51 is always appropriate.

In the Russian Church an acolyte may not don a robe at the beginning of the service without a blessing and must receive a blessing again to take it off at the end. Thus such "enthusiasm" is curbed by the necessity of receiving a blessing from the priest - and if that priest is me, then I make sure that they are truly finished with their tasks (which would include a prayer if such was prescribed, although there is nothing for this in the typicon)

If by any chance you are able to get that prayer it would be much appreciated.

    Seconded.

And while we're on the subject, how does a subdeacon arrange his orar when approaching the priest/bishop to seek a blessing to vest? Is it just folded over the stikhar or is there some special way?

    "Bless, Father!"

To that, I add a silent prayer based on how a chanter should chant--in a manner that is Edifying, Graceful, and Orderly, but without EGO.

And, when a service is exceedingly complicated, or when there are two different isons, one in each ear and both of them wrong, "Help me, Lord!"

And if, by chance, you are a victim of creeping amusia, as I am, keep silent where you think you may be going off-key, and concentrate on the words.

I no longer serve as a cantor because my amusia has got so bad that on octave's difference can mean a jump of one or two half-tones up; every service has now become for me a Charles Ives-like experience in clashing tonalities.

Creeping amusia? That doesn't sound like it's very amusing.
