Active Participles

The various forms of the present active participles are shown below. Participles are never augmented, even in the aorist aspect. Endings are added to the stem of the appropriate principle part and contracted if necessary. There are no imperfect or pluperfect participles.
The second aorist participle has the same endings as the present participle, but they are placed on the stem of the third principle part (and do not include augmentation). Differing from the present participle, second aorists are accented on the participle ending itself.
The perfect participle is used less frequently in Greek than the aorist participle, but still with much regularity. As with the second aorist participle, accents fall on the participle endings.
