Help: Editing Pages
Editing new documents
If the document you wish to edit does not yet exist (i.e. if you wish to create and edit a new source text document for the Library), please see Help:Starting a new page.
Editing existing documents
Once you have been assigned as editor of a specific document (see Requesting a Text), you can edit the text as follows:
- First, log in to the editor interface.
- On the page you wish to edit, click the edit page tab, which will appear towards the top of the document once you are logged in.
- Make changes to the document in the edit box. Be sure that you are only making changes in accordance with our Library Project Style Guide. If you're making normal changes to the text like fixing spelling mistakes or grammar, inserting new sentences, etc, then you don't have to worry too much about formatting. When you do need to use some type of formatting, you do it using Monachos.net's wiki-syntax, see Help:Formatting for some of the common types of formatting used.
- Please enter a short note in the Summary box describing your changes. This will help the Monachos.net editor track the changes made to given documents.
- Optionally, you can preview your changes with the Preview button.
- Click the Save page button.
