Help: Formatting

You can format text in the Monachos.net Library using wiki markup (that is, the markup language used by the MediaWiki system which powers the Library, and which is most popularly known from the Wikipedia web site). This consists of normal characters like asterisks, single quotes or equation marks which have a special function in Monachos.net's wiki markup language, sometimes depending on their position. For example, to format a word in italic, you include it in two single quotes like ''this''.

Paragraphs

The Monachos.net Library system ignores normal line breaks. To start a new paragraph, leave an empty line. You can also start a newline with the HTML tag <br />.

HTML

Some HTML-Tags are allowed in Monachos.net Library documents, for example: <code>, <div>, <span> and <font>.

Additional HTML tags can be used in the Monachos.net Library; however, this should only be done in cases where it is not possible to use native wiki-coding. Please contact the webmaster with queries on how to employ more advanced HTML tags in your Library documents, or with questions as to native wiki markup that might work instead.

More advanced formatting

Beyond the basic text formatting markup shown above, there are some more advanced formatting tricks:
